House Approves Three Different Bills

House Approves Three Different Bills Addis Ababa, The House of Peoples Representatives has approved three bills in its regular session held here on Tuesday.

The House also discussed extensively on the agenda presented by the Coalition for Unity and Democracy (CUD).

The House has endorsed the bill ratifying the agreement between Ethiopia and Equatorial Guinea on investment promotion and protection, and the accord signed between Ethiopia and International Agricultural Development Fund.

The House also approved a bill establishing the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange.

Regarding the agreement between Ethiopia and Equatorial Guinea, it was pointed out on the occasion that the agreement would enable to create a joint investment and trade ties between the two countries.

It was mentioned cocrening the the agreement signed between Ethiopia and International Agricultural Development Fund that it

would enhance basin development and increase productivity.

It would also help develop over 10,000 hectares of land and create over 25,000 new jobs.

 

Regarding the agenda presented by the CUD, its was pointed out that many Ethiopian citizens migrating to abroad illegally are exposed to addiction and commercial sex workers, and rape.

It stressed the need that the government along with the international organization must do something to help return such citizens to their homeland as the practice is tarnishing the image of the nation.

Government Whip with the House, Wondimu Gezahegn said in reply to the question in issue that the government is exerting efforts to return such people to their native land.
